My Media Summer
During my summer I instigated with a lot of media use. For example I watched films and TV series listened to new songs, listened to the radio and watched stories in the news.
Films
In summer 2018 Many films came out i saw mamma Mia 2 here we go again, Incredibles 2 and To all the boys i loved before.
Mamma Mia 2- This film is the squeal to mamma Mia It follows the story of Donna when she was younger and how she ended up in Greece pregnant by one of three possible men. This story also shows us how Donna's daughter is turning the rundown hotel Donna used to own into a beautiful resort after Donna died. The target audience for this would be females aged 13-50 who enjoy singing and romance. They appeal to this target by using issues such as pregnancy and mother daughter bonds which would attract this kind of audience.
Incredibles 2- This is yet another squeal to the first incredible which came out in 2004 the primary target audience is 5-11 year old based on it being a cartoon by pixar. However the secondary Target audience is teenagers 12-18 as they grew up with the first movie. The tertiary target audience is parents who take their children to watch the film.
To all the boys I've loved before- This film is on Netflix its about a girl named Laura-jean who writes letters to her crushes but keeps them secret one day all the letters get sent out which causes truouble and confusion with her and the boys and her family. This film is targeted towards teenage girls as the main characters are around their age which will appeal to them more as they are at the same stage in life as the audience so they will relate to it more.
TV Series
Many new series came out on Netflix such as insatiable and Disenchantment.
Insatiable- This follows the story of a girl named patty who was once a bit large and she was known by her peers as "fatty patty" she ten becomes slim due to her being punched in the face and breaking her jaw she had to go on a liquid diet. She is discovered by a beauty pageant manager and takes her under his wing. Her behaviour also changes drastically into a murderous attitude. This series is dedicated to teenage girls around 13-17 as it uses typical girl issues but it also teaches girls to love themselves no matter what.
Disenchantment- This is a cartoon series much like the Simpsons as its created by the same person its about a royal family and it follows the daughter an elf and a demon. This has a wide target audience much like the Simpsons as it appeals to teenagers but also adults as it has a lot of innuendos adults will understand.
Songs
Some songs i listened to included:
Rise- Jonas blue, jack and jack
Solo- clean bandit and demi levato
promises- Calvin harris and Sam smith
East side- Khalid, Halsey
Mona Lisa-Lukwatsss
Chun-li- Nicki Minaj
Radio
The radio station i listened to during the summer was CAPITAL FM. This is because the music is the genre i listened to also it is targeted towards teenagers as all the singers are relatively new. Teenagers are the primary audience for this. However younger/ Older siblings would be secondary as they would pick up the music from being in the car with their teenage siblings. The tertiary audience would be parents as they would usually listen to to magic heart or BBC radio 4.

In the theatre i went to see two performances. I saw Chicago and hamilton
Chicago: This is about a woman named Roxy who killed a man and then is sent to prison and has a conflict with another girl who wants the limelight from her murder. Throughout this Roxy gains help from a man named Billy Flyn who helps prove rosy innocents
Hamilton: This is about one of the forefathers of america. Hamilton was born a poor man but manages to get himself a scholarship to a college and work his way to being the right hand man of George Washington. He has competition with this man Aaron Burr about who gets further in government. Hamilton is tested many times in life but continues to get further in life. The music and play is Written by Lin Manuel Miranda and is AMAZING!!!
